Canine Clicker Training

Canine clicker training is a method used with dogs or with other animals by using a method called Classical Conditioning.
Classical conditioning is when you relate a desired behavior with a reward. So if you command your dog to sit and he obeys, then your dog may receive a reward.
You click the clicker when giving the treat which will result in a positive manner. With repetition the clicker will be associated with good behavior over time if you didn’t offer a treat.
The clicker is a small plastic box/device which you, the master, carry that contains a metal strap which makes a “click” sound when pressed and released, and it is your job as a master to associate the click with good behavior.
The clicker advantage is that it encourages good behavior. Your dog will get better in time and do things right.
To get effective results from canine clicker is to cut your commands into mini tasks. So to get your dog to lie down and rollover, reward the dog with a click when he first lies down, then train him to rollover and reward him with another click.
Use canine clicker training for simple and complex comands but you have to associate it with a reward and you need to know that your dog must understand that your clicker is a reward.
